Neil Gaiman giving his speech. As you can see it was pretty dark on stage with only a spotlight shining down on him, hence the dark photo.

Neil Gaiman
Today I got up bright and early to see Neil Gaiman give a public seminar as part of a childrens book expo that was being held in Melbourne. It was at the Melbourne Convention Centre, with Neils Gaimans seminar presented in the John Batman (yay!) Theatre. He spoke for just over an hour covering his ideas on what makes a childrens book work and the process he uses to imagine and create the worlds in which he writes about. It was all incredibly interesting. Throughout the speech he stopped four times to read us poems he had written over the years which were all awesome!! He finished to a standing ovation, definetly deserved. We left the theatre and starting lining up at the signing table. It all went pretty smoothly with fans getting there books, comics and dvds signed. I was lucky enough to be the last person allowed to get a photo with him.
